Elected FAST PTO Officers 

Co-Presidents
Serve as the primary leaders and key contacts for the PTO, presiding over all general membership and FAST Family PTO Board meetings. Coordinate the work of Officers and Committee Chairs to ensure PTO goals and objectives are achieved, and appoint special committees as needed. Represent the PTO in discussions with school administration and attend monthly School Governing Board meetings, reporting back to the Board and providing guidance on PTO initiatives and policies.

The Co-Presidents serve as authorized signatories on all financial accounts, maintain and account for PTO debit card purchases with proper authorization, and sign and execute contracts, agreements, and official documents as approved by the Board. They assist the incoming Co-President, alongside the Treasurer, in preparing the initial budget for the succeeding term and attend the first general membership meeting following the end of their term to address budget-related questions. Co-Presidents also attend monthly PTO Board meetings, monitor PTO communication channels (including email and Google Chat), and perform additional duties as directed by the bylaws or the Board.


Co-Vice Presidents
Support the Co-Presidents by assisting with leadership responsibilities and ensuring continuity of leadership when the Co-Presidents are unavailable. Preside over PTO meetings in their absence and attend the monthly School Governing Board meeting if neither Co-President can attend. Serve as an authorized signatory on all financial accounts and sign checks when a Co-President is unavailable.

Each Vice President oversees assigned Chairpersons (ideally approximately half of the PTO chair positions) ensuring objectives are met while providing guidance and support. They also oversee special committees and coordinate their activities as assigned by the Executive Board. Vice Presidents attend monthly PTO Board meetings, monitor PTO communication channels (including email and Google Chat), and perform additional duties as directed by the Co-Presidents or the Board. Ideally, this role serves as preparation for a future Co-President position.


Secretary
Coordinate with all PTO Board members for agenda topics for the meetings. Set up and send out meeting invites. Prepare and distribute meeting agendas. Record and maintain accurate minutes for all meetings. Maintain the PTO calendar of events. Maintain and organize PTO documents on Google Drive. Assist in recruiting committee chairpersons for vacant standing committees. Prepare correspondence and perform other duties as assigned.


Treasurer
Be responsible for and maintain custody of all PTO funds, including receiving, managing, and disbursing funds as properly authorized. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with PTO financial policies and best practices. Coordinate with the bookkeeper regarding reconciliation of accounts and associated issues, process all reimbursements, and ensure proper procedures are followed at all PTO events where money is collected, including being present when required.

Prepare financial reports for each PTO and Executive Board meeting and as needed. Coordinate with the bookkeeper to prepare the books for the annual audit. Prepare the annual PTO budget in MoneyMinder following consultation and input from the Board.

Responsible for (i) renewing the PTO’s annual registration with the Secretary of State; (ii) renewing the PTO’s insurance coverages annually; and (iii) renewing the PTO’s subscription to MoneyMinder annually (budgeting and accounting software).


Elected Chairperson Roles

Each Chairperson leads a team of volunteers and committee leads recruited by the PTO to support events and initiatives.  All chairs are supported by the Co-Presidents and Vice President, who provide guidance and collaboration when needed.  With a strong team in place, events and initiatives can move forward successfully. If there are not enough volunteers to support an event or initiative, it will not take place.


Academic Enrichment Chair – Teacher Grants Program

Manage and oversee the PTO Teacher Grant program, serving as the primary point of contact for all grant-related communications and processes. Develop and distribute communications to staff regarding grant opportunities, application procedures, and deadlines. Collect, compile, and review all applications to ensure program requirements are met.

Prepare presentations for school administration and PTO Board approval, including support materials such as slideshows, spreadsheets, and voting materials. Manage the academic grant budget to maximize PTO impact and ensure responsible stewardship of funds. Coordinate the purchasing, tracking, and timely delivery of approved grant items to staff. Maintain detailed records of all PTO grant purchases and supporting photos for reporting and archival purposes.


Community Outreach Chair

Lead and coordinate PTO programs and partnerships that promote community outreach, civic engagement, and student involvement. Develop and manage initiatives that elevate the visibility and reputation of FAST within the surrounding community while providing meaningful opportunities for students to participate in service-oriented activities that give back.

Oversee and coordinate school-wide and community partnership programs. Collaborate with school-based clubs and organizations (e.g., Beta Club, Student Council) to support and coordinate student-led service and outreach initiatives. Find additional outreach programs. 

Initiatives that have been included in the past are Roswell Youth Day Parade float, Scarecrows for Roswell and Alpharetta, the Roswell Holiday Tree, and Earth Day tree distribution. This role will also manage the school Learning Garden committee. 

Responsible for relaying budget allocations to committee chairs and ensuring successful execution of these programs.

Events Chair

Lead, plan and oversee PTO-sponsored events designed to build community, foster school spirit, and create engaging experiences for FAST students and families. 

Coordinate major events such as Popsicles with the Principal, Bingo Nights, Trunk or Treat, Family Dance, and International Festival and any other new events as decided. Work closely with event committee chairs to allocate budgets, coordinate resources, recruit volunteers, and ensure clear communication and collaboration with school administration. Events will be held only if a volunteer committee chair is available to lead planning and execution.

Marketing & Website Chair

Lead all PTO communications by providing clear, positive, and consistent information to families and school leadership. This role oversees the creation and distribution of PTO messaging across the weekly email newsletter, social media platforms, and the PTO website to promote events, initiatives, and community engagement.

Works closely with other Chairs to create promotional materials, including graphics, flyers, presentations, and social media content to support PTO initiatives. 

Serve as the knowledge leader for the PTO website (MTK), ensuring all information is accurate, current, and easy to access. Maintain a shared marketing and photo drive to support ongoing communication needs.

Act as the PTO database administrator, keeping member and volunteer information organized and up to date. Support membership and business partner campaigns by maintaining a promotional calendar and creating related materials. This role may supervise a Social Media Coordinator.

Membership & Fundraising Chair

The Membership & Fundraising Chair leads the PTO’s efforts to grow membership, strengthen community engagement, and generate funds that support our students, staff, and school programs. This role oversees the annual membership drive beginning in July and maintains engagement throughout the year by encouraging participation, establishing membership levels and goals, tracking progress, managing incentives, and partnering with the Marketing team to promote membership and business sponsors. 

In addition, the chair coordinates and oversees all PTO fundraising initiatives, including business partnerships, spirit wear and used uniform sales, the silent auction, and monthly Spirit Nights, developing fundraising strategies, setting goals, and working closely with committee chairs and volunteers to plan, execute, and ensure the success of each event.

School Support Chair

Serve as the primary PTO liaison to school staff, with a focus on supporting teachers and school-directed initiatives. 

Lead staff appreciation efforts throughout the year, including staff lunches, snack carts, stocking the staff lounge, holiday parties, Kindness Week, and Teacher Appreciation Week.

Partner with school administration and staff contacts to coordinate PTO support for school-sponsored initiatives such as Library Support, PBIS celebrations, Book Fair, and Field Day. Oversee committee chairs responsible for teacher- and staff-focused activities and ensure they have clear budgets, resources, and communication.

This role requires flexibility to assist with occasional last-minute needs or requests from school leadership.

Volunteer Support Chair (NEW)

Recruit, coordinate, and manage all PTO volunteer efforts across the school. Work closely with all chairperson teams to assess volunteer needs and provide staffing support.

Ensure all volunteers understand and follow the PTO Volunteer Code of Ethics and school policies. Track and maintain accurate records of volunteer hours. Plan and execute volunteer recognition and appreciation initiatives to celebrate and retain volunteers throughout the year.

Coordinate and oversee all communications and logistics for Grade-Level Representatives and Fathers Being Involved (FBI), ensuring consistent engagement and participation.
